This handmade, hand-sewn little fish necklace is a whimsical fabric-art pendant necklace designed as a cute cartoon accessory, well suited to be worn as a niche-style sweater chain or decorative accent piece. The pendant is constructed as a small, plump square cushion shape with softly puffed edges and slightly curved sides, giving it the charming look of a miniature stuffed pillow. Its outer body is made from a light lavender-purple woven fabric with a visible fine twill-like texture, and the edges are finished with evenly spaced bright pink blanket stitching that adds both reinforcement and a cheerful decorative border running around all four sides of the square.
The face of the pendant features a layered patchwork composition set on a central panel of natural off-white woven fabric. Hand-embroidered in deep purple thread is a playful fish-bone motif, complete with a triangular head containing a small stitched eye, a central spine with radiating rib lines, and a triangular tail. Above the fish, several small hot-pink cross stitches are scattered as accent marks, echoing the naive, hand-drawn cartoon style of the design. Along the lower portion of the panel, two small rectangular fabric patches are appliqued side by side: one in blue denim with yellow and white woven threads running through it, and one in a red-and-pink striped woven ribbon texture. A small glossy yellow oval bead or accent sits on the denim patch, while tiny loose beads in turquoise, pale gray-green, and green cylindrical shapes are scattered just above the patches, adding extra color and dimension.
Across the top edge of the pendant, three round buttons serve as decorative hardware, arranged like a row of bubbles above the fish. The leftmost is a large charcoal-black button with an orange cross-shaped thread stitching through its four holes, the middle is a medium glossy burnt-orange button with an orange stitch, and the rightmost is a smaller caramel-tan button also finished with orange cross stitching. The button sizes step down gradually from left to right, creating a pleasing asymmetrical rhythm. Each button is sewn firmly to the fabric face, and the visible hand stitching throughout the piece gives it an obviously artisanal, one-of-a-kind character.
The pendant hangs from a slender dark brown waxed-cord style necklace cord, adjustable with small knotted stops near the ends that are finished with tiny natural wooden beads. The cord is adorned with accent beads positioned symmetrically on either side as it descends toward the pendant: on the left, a dusty-pink flat bead stacked above a glossy grass-green round bead, and on the right, a glossy deep-red round bead stacked above a small turquoise bead. When worn, the cord drapes in a classic V shape, placing the cushioned pendant at the center of the chest, where its lavender, pink, purple, and multicolored palette pairs beautifully with light, cream, or lace-textured tops.
In terms of construction and materials, the pendant is a fabric piece with cloth as its primary material, and the interior stuffing is pearl cotton (pearl wool fiberfill), which gives the cushion its soft, plump three-dimensional form. The fabric components of the pendant have been washed, and the outer wooden beads on the cord should be kept away from water to preserve their finish.
