Hand Painted Floral Jade Clay Mug 450cc
Ein genauerer Blick
This tall, handleless ceramic mug is crafted from high-fired jade clay, presenting a smooth, dense body with a refined, slightly translucent quality at the rim. The vessel is cylindrical with a gentle taper, widening subtly toward the mouth, and features a rounded, unglazed foot ring at the base. The exterior is entirely covered in a dense, all-over floral composition executed in the traditional underglaze five-color technique, with hand-painted motifs that wrap continuously around the surface. The interior and the base are finished in a clean, glossy white glaze, providing a stark, luminous contrast to the richly decorated exterior.
The decorative scheme is a lush, interlocking tapestry of stylized blossoms in a soft, pastel palette. Dominant forms include large, multi-petaled peony-like flowers in graduated shades of blush pink and rose, alongside daisy-like blooms in pale sky blue, buttery yellow, lavender, and muted coral. Each petal is defined by fine, raised white outlines that create a cloisonné-like effect, giving the surface a subtle tactile relief. The color transitions within each flower are smooth and painterly, moving from saturated centers to near-white edges, while small filler blossoms, dots, and delicate linework fill the interstices, ensuring no background is left bare. The overall aesthetic draws on classical Chinese porcelain decoration, updated with a contemporary, airy color sensibility.
The surface treatment is a high-gloss glaze that catches the light, producing soft, diffused highlights along the curved walls and a bright, reflective sheen on the white interior. The raised white outlines catch the light independently, adding depth and a jewel-like quality to the floral pattern. The glaze appears even and well-fused, with no visible crazing or pinholing in the photographed areas. The rim is smoothly finished and slightly thickened for durability, while the base shows a clean, unglazed foot ring typical of high-fired ceramic ware, with a faint, thin line of glaze pooling visible where the exterior decoration meets the foot.
In terms of scale, the mug is designed for comfortable handheld use, with a height and diameter proportioned to hold approximately 450cc of liquid. The absence of a handle emphasizes its sleek, modern silhouette, making it suitable for both hot and cold beverages. The hand-painted nature of the decoration means that each piece carries slight variations in line weight and color placement, contributing to its artisanal character. The overall impression is one of delicate, luminous beauty, combining traditional ceramic craftsmanship with a fresh, decorative floral motif.
