De schelp is direct in het midden van het knoopwerk geweven in plaats van aan een aparte lus te hangen, zodat de band plat en glad op de basis van de nek ligt en de hanger net onder het sleutelbeen rust. De schelp is ongeveer zo groot als een duimnagel, en het stuk laat zich makkelijk combineren met fijnere kettingen of staat op zichzelf.

This handcrafted macrame choker necklace, referred to as a sea-wind choker, centers on a single natural cowrie shell suspended at the V-point of a densely hand-knotted cord band. The shell is a natural cowrie with an ivory-to-cream white body, a softly glossy porcelain-like surface, and the characteristic serrated longitudinal slit along its underside; since it is a natural shell, its grain, curvature, and luster differ slightly from piece to piece. Where the shell meets the knotting, a small faceted translucent smoky-champagne bead is wrapped in dark burgundy knots, anchoring the drop.
The cordwork is executed in wine-red to deep burgundy waxed cord, knotted into an open lattice of interlocking X-shaped and diamond-shaped patterns along the band, with a subtle two-tone effect created by lighter crimson inner cords visible through the openwork against the darker outer knots. The knot texture is fine, tight, and uniform, giving the band a slightly raised braided relief that lies flat and smooth against the skin. Small matte copper beads in a soft brass-gold tone are strung at staggered intervals along both lower edges of the lattice, descending in density toward the central pendant, where additional beads cluster around the shell's bail.
Structurally, the shell is not hung on a separate loop but is woven directly into the center of the knotwork, integrating it seamlessly into the band. The outer sections of the necklace taper into a simple twisted burgundy cord that continues around the neck, indicating an adjustable tie-style closure. The overall silhouette forms a graceful V at the front, sitting as a choker at the base of the neck, with the shell drop resting just below the collarbone when worn.
The design language is bohemian and coastal, combining natural material textures with macrame artistry. The waxed cord has a low-sheen matte finish, contrasting with the glossy shell and the faint metallic shimmer of the copper beads. The knotting shows consistent tension and even spacing throughout, characteristic of careful handwork, while the natural shell carries its own organic variations rather than machine-perfect uniformity.
Materials represented are a natural cowrie shell, waxed cord in wine red, and matte copper accent beads. As with all pure hand-knotted work, minor cord-end singe marks may be present, and as a natural mineral-based shell piece, slight natural imperfections are normal; the piece is intended for wear as a close-fitting choker necklace.
