This leather is hand-dyed to a deep, uniform black color and has a high-density, stiff structure. The surface is treated with a leather conditioner, resulting in a subtle, semi-glossy finish that reflects light evenly. The crown is tall and cylindrical with a flat top, while the wide brim features a gentle, symmetrical upward curve along its entire edge. A prominent decorative band encircles the base of the crown, made from a single strip cut from the widest part of a snake skin, showcasing a natural pattern of black and off-white scales with a textured, slightly glossy surface.
The construction details reveal meticulous handcraftsmanship. The brim is reinforced and its edge is finished with precise, even stitching using dark thread, which is also visible securing the decorative band to the crown. A vertical seam runs down the back of the crown, joined with a distinctive cross-stitch pattern.
