The dense, uniform surface shows the tight grain and rich color depth typical of high-quality cordovan, which develops a mirror-like patina with use. Its clean rectangular form and precise proportions give it a sleek, minimalist look with a vintage-inspired character.

The interior is lined with natural brown Tochigi saddle leather, offering a matte, fibrous texture that contrasts with the glossy exterior and adds structural rigidity. Two vertical pockets on the left and one on the right hold the notebook insert securely, with a gold foil stamp reading "ShiJi handmade with devotion" on the left pocket and an embossed "ketong" near the bottom edge of the right pocket.
