A closer look
This one-of-a-kind handcrafted art doll is a unique, non-replicable piece measuring 15 cm in length, 7 cm in width, and 4 cm in depth. Designed in a "sweet and gloomy" aesthetic, the figure features a soft, plush bear-themed bodysuit that covers the majority of the doll's body. The outfit is constructed from a fluffy, textured fabric that transitions from a clean white base to vibrant shades of pink and red, creating a distressed, blood-stained appearance. The material composition includes a standard doll body, plush fabric for the costume, hand-painted pigments for the facial and body details, and resin accessories. The overall style is characterized by a gothic, surreal, and slightly macabre vibe, blending cute plush elements with dark, artistic modifications.
The face of the doll is a focal point of the design, featuring large, glossy black eyes with detailed painted lashes and a small, defined nose. The facial skin has a smooth, matte finish, which contrasts with the surrounding textures. Hand-painted details include delicate, dark stitching lines across the cheeks and forehead, mimicking the look of surgical scars or voodoo-style stitching. A small, pinkish-red mouth is painted with a subtle, slightly asymmetrical expression. The hair, which appears to be part of the plush hood or a separate fiber attachment, is a mix of white and bright pink, framing the face in a soft, cloud-like manner. The eyes are positioned wide apart, contributing to the doll's wide-eyed, innocent yet unsettling expression.
The body of the doll is encased in a one-piece plush suit that resembles a bear costume, complete with a hood that covers the head. The fabric of the suit is heavily textured, with a shaggy, uneven pile that gives it a tactile, soft appearance. The "blood" effects are achieved through hand-painted red and orange pigments that are applied in irregular, splotchy patterns across the white and pink fur. These markings are concentrated on the chest, limbs, and hood, creating a sense of movement and distress. The suit is fitted to the doll's body, allowing the limbs to be visible at the extremities. The hands and feet of the doll are exposed, showing the smooth, pale material of the doll's body, which provides a stark contrast to the rough, colorful texture of the plush suit.
The doll features articulated joints, allowing for a range of poses and movements. The arms and legs are designed to be movable, with visible joints at the shoulders, elbows, hips, and knees. This articulation is evident in the way the doll is held in the images, with the limbs positioned in various angles. The joints are integrated seamlessly into the design, ensuring that the plush suit does not restrict the doll's range of motion. The feet are flat and stable, allowing the doll to stand on its own if placed on a flat surface. The hands are small and detailed, with defined fingers that add to the realism of the figure. The overall construction is robust, with the plush suit securely attached to the doll's body.
This piece is intended as a collectible item or a decorative accessory, suitable for use as a bag charm or a display piece. The small size of the doll makes it easy to handle and display in various settings. The unique, hand-painted details and the one-of-a-kind nature of the piece make it a desirable item for collectors of art dolls and gothic-themed collectibles. The combination of soft, plush textures with dark, artistic elements creates a visually striking piece that is both cute and unsettling. The doll is a testament to the skill and creativity of the artist, showcasing a high level of detail and craftsmanship in its construction and design.
