A closer look
This crystal bonsai tabletop landscape ornament is assembled inside a glossy black melamine basin measuring 20 cm in diameter. The vessel has a wide, shallow, gently lobed form with a softly undulating, almost petal-like rim that flares outward from a narrower base, and its deep obsidian-black surface carries a high-gloss, glass-like finish that catches light along the curved lip and along the convex body, producing long, soft specular streaks and mirror-like reflections. The dark lacquer sheen of the bowl provides a strong visual anchor for the brightly colored mineral specimens arranged within it, and its broad diameter allows a generous, multi-layered composition of stones, pebbles and decorative elements.
The arrangement is built primarily from natural mineral specimens, chiefly yellow-toned citrine crystal clusters, smoky quartz columns and amethyst columns, complemented by polished crystal spheres. In the display, a large citrine druse dominates one side, its surface a dense carpet of small, sharply terminated quartz points that graduate in color from pale, almost colorless translucent tips to warmer amber and honey-gold hues near the base; a second citrine cluster stands beside it with elongated, slender, blade-like terminated points of a richer orange-gold, their tips translucent and glassy, their flanks smooth and light-reflective. The crystal columns exhibit the classic hexagonal prism habit of quartz, with flat termination faces and glassy, vitreous luster. A clear to milky-white quartz sphere rests on the bed, its surface polished to a smooth, reflective sheen with faint internal veils and cloud-like inclusions visible beneath the surface. Two faceted amethyst points are also part of the composition, cut with polished hexagonal prisms and pointed terminations, showing violet to deep purple color zoning, translucent clarity, and visible internal color banding.
Supporting the mineral specimens is a base layer of black obsidian, forming the ground material of the landscape. The obsidian appears as small, irregular, glassy black chips and fragments with conchoidal fracture surfaces and a strong vitreous luster, giving the bed a dark, sparkling, mineral-rich texture that contrasts with the bright amber and violet stones. Scattered across this black base are small decorative metal-colored ornaments in a bright gold finish, including miniature ingot shapes and round coin-like discs with raised relief characters and square center openings, adding a polished, metallic counterpoint to the natural stone. A natural brown pine cone is also included among the elements, its overlapping woody scales providing an organic, matte, fibrous texture that
