Item details

Color pattern: Gold and Yellow
Lampshade shape: Empire
Light temperature: Warm white
Material: Brass
Mounting type: Tabletop and Floor
Style: Retro/Vintage and Traditional

This is a dual-purpose lighting fixture that works as both a table lamp and a floor lamp, with a design inspired by the classic Chinese novel "Dream of the Red Chamber." It blends French vintage aesthetics with traditional Chinese elements, creating a distinctive national style that feels both decorative and functional.

The lampshade is the visual centerpiece, featuring a domed upper section adorned with intricate artwork of classical figures and architectural scenes in warm yellows, greens, and browns. The surface has a matte, fabric-like texture, and the lower edge is trimmed with a dense fringe of white strands accented by small green beads, adding movement and depth. The brass base, when included, is tall and slender with a polished, reflective finish, composed of stacked bulbous segments that flare into an ornate pedestal, providing elegant support.

Key features:
- Domed shade with hand-painted style classical imagery
- Cascading fringe with green bead accents
- Polished brass base with sculptural, urn-like segments

Type: Table and floor lamp
Materials: Brass base; shade with illustrated fabric or paper-like covering and thread fringe
Finish / color: Golden brass; warm yellow, green, and brown artwork on off-white background

The lamp can be used on a tabletop or as a floor-standing piece, depending on the base configuration. Its substantial scale suits a living room corner or beside a reading chair, and the warm glow from within highlights the artwork and fringe.

Occasions:
- Evening reading in a cozy study
- Ambient lighting in a living room
- Decorative accent in a bedroom
- Conversation area in a lounge

Care:
- Dust the shade gently with a soft, dry cloth
- Wipe the brass base with a damp cloth and dry immediately
- Keep the fringe free of dust by using a low-suction vacuum attachment

This piece is handmade, so slight variations in the artwork and fringe may occur, adding to its unique character.
