Hand Braided Lambskin Cord Brass Stirrup Keychain
- Hand-plaited round leather braid in warm ivory cream
- Two overlapping brass rings with antiqued golden patina
- Cast brass stirrup charm with oxidized, sculptural detail
Type: Hand-braided leather pendant, keychain and decorative hanger
Materials: Lambskin leather strips; brass rings and brass stirrup charm
Finish / color: Warm ivory cream leather; antique brass with polished highlights
Loop the larger brass ring onto a keyring, bag strap, or belt loop so the stirrup charm hangs and swings below. The neutral ivory leather and aged brass sit easily alongside other leather and metal pieces, and the whole piece is small enough to rest in the palm of your hand.
- Everyday bag or keyring accessory
- Equestrian-inspired casual wear
- Layered with other leather and brass pieces
- A quiet gift for someone drawn to traditional metalwork
- Keep leather away from prolonged moisture and direct heat
- Wipe brass with a soft dry cloth; avoid abrasive polishes
- Store flat or hanging in a dry place to protect the braid
Hand-braiding and casting mean small variations in tone, knot density, and finish from one piece to the next.

A closer look
This is a hand-braided leather cord pendant featuring a cast brass stirrup charm, designed as an all-copper-fitting keychain and decorative hanger. The pendant consists of three main parts: a pair of interlocking brass rings at the top, a hand-plaited cord body, and a sculptural brass stirrup hanging at the bottom. All metal hardware is described as solid copper, specifically brass, and the cord is made from full-fat lambskin leather strips, giving it a soft, supple, and slightly waxy natural sheen rather than a glossy coated finish.
The leather is a warm ivory or cream off-white color, with subtle natural tonal variation between the lighter highlights on the raised braid ridges and slightly deeper, warmer cream shadows within the knot recesses. The cord is constructed by hand-plaiting narrow leather strips into a tight, uniform round braid. The braid is segmented into three distinct zones: a dense cluster of decorative knots directly beneath the top rings, a long continuous braided section through the middle, and a second knotted cluster immediately above the stirrup where the cord is bound into the metal attachment point. Below the first knot cluster, several short leather ends are left free and cut flat, creating a small fringe or tassel effect with squared-off, pale cut edges that reveal the matte, fibrous underside of the leather.
The top fitting comprises two round brass rings that overlap one another, allowing the piece to hang freely and swing. The rings show a warm golden-brass tone with a slightly aged, antiqued patina in the recesses, while the outer high points catch light with brighter, more polished gold reflections. The larger outer ring functions as the attachment loop for keys or a strap. Both rings are smooth and free of visible seams, and the leather cord passes through them and is secured with dense, tightly wound knotting rather than visible hardware or glue.
The lower charm is a miniature stirrup rendered in cast brass with an antique brass finish that contrasts polished golden highlights with darkened, oxidized crevices for an aged, traditional appearance. The stirrup is shaped as an inverted open frame: two vertical side arms extend downward from a curved top bar
