A hand-carved and hand-painted fairy-tale cottage figurine sculpted from solid linden (basswood) wood, presented in a charming, storybook style with soft, rounded proportions and a comforting, whimsical mood. The entire piece is integrated onto a single carved base, standing as a compact tabletop scene that combines a small house, a tree, a chimney with a puff of smoke, and a grassy mound. Every surface shows the marks of hand work: gentle chisel facets, faceted planes, and subtle tool textures remain visible beneath the coloring, giving the piece a warm, artisanal character.
The cottage body is painted a soft warm off-white or pale cream, and the natural wood grain and tiny pits of the linden wood remain slightly perceptible through the finish, reinforcing the handmade quality. Its roof is a curved, gently domed shape in a muted coral or terracotta salmon tone, detailed with incised, carved lines that suggest overlapping shingles or tiles, with shading variation where the paint pools slightly in the grooves.
