A closer look
This is an original, one-of-a-kind hand-sewn necklace designed with a burn-distressed, aged aesthetic. The piece draws on spiritual, witchy, hippie, tribal, nomadic, bohemian, and ethnic subculture influences, incorporating natural and psychedelic tribal totem motifs. It is presented as a unisex accessory suitable for both men and women, and it is offered in both long and short length variations. The necklace is intended as a gift item.
The primary structural material is a smooth, medium-brown leather cord that forms the neck loop. The decorative front section is built from a dark brown, twisted fiber rope that serves as the main horizontal support. Attached to this rope are several pieces of coarse, open-weave burlap fabric in a natural tan or oatmeal color. These fabric panels feature intentionally frayed, raw edges and irregular, torn silhouettes. The fabric surfaces are heavily distressed with dark brown and black burn marks, scorching, and singed patches, creating a weathered, aged, and rustic texture. The fabric panels are secured to the rope with visible, thick, dark brown hand-stitching that runs along the upper edges in a whip-stitch or blanket-stitch pattern.
The central focal point is a large, openwork metal pendant shaped like the Eye of Horus, an ancient Egyptian protective symbol. This charm has an antique brass or bronze finish with a slightly matte, aged patina. It is suspended from the twisted rope by a small metal jump ring. Flanking the central eye are two smaller metal charms shaped like stylized sunbursts or tribal sun symbols, also finished in the same antique brass tone. These sun charms are attached to the side fabric panels. Additionally, small, dark, square or rectangular metal beads or spacers are stitched onto the lower portions of the side fabric panels, adding further metallic detail.
The necklace also incorporates several large, round, polished beads. These beads are primarily white or cream-colored with distinct brown or tan marbled streaks and spots, resembling natural stone, shell, or possibly polished bone or ceramic. They are threaded onto the twisted rope between the fabric panels, providing a smooth, glossy contrast to the rough burlap and matte metal. The overall color palette is earthy and muted, dominated by browns, tans, creams, and antique brass tones.
At the back of the necklace, the leather cord ends are finished with decorative elements. One end features a dark brown, fuzzy or fibrous tassel-like attachment, possibly made of felted wool or animal hair, bound with a lighter, cream-colored fiber wrap. The other end of the cord appears to be a simple leather tie or closure. The construction is entirely hand-assembled, with visible stitching and irregular placement of elements that emphasize its artisanal, handmade quality. The piece has a rugged, organic, and mystical appearance, combining natural materials with symbolic metalwork.
