A closer look
This handcrafted wire-wrapped pendant necklace features a natural purple sprout crystal (amethyst) as its centerpiece, held in an intricate silver-toned metal wire cage that spirals and curls organically around the stone like flowing flames or wisps of vapor. The amethyst exhibits a soft lavender to violet-purple hue with natural internal veining, cloudy inclusions and translucency that shift in tone across its irregular, faceted freeform surfaces. The stone sits slightly off-center within the wrapping, angled so its broadest polished face catches the light and reveals depth and internal color zoning, with paler, almost lilac-pink zones blending into deeper purple areas.
The wirework is executed in bright polished silver-colored metal, built up from multiple strands of round wire of varying thickness that coil tightly around the stone in layered bands and sweep outward into asymmetrical, flame-like extensions. Finer wire is coiled in tight, even spirals around the larger framing wires, creating detailed texture and contrast between smooth mirror-polished strands and ridged, ribbed coils. The wrapping forms a sculptural, three-dimensional frame with openwork negative spaces, so the crystal remains visible from several sides, and the overall silhouette is taller than it is wide, tapering into tapered points and loops at the top where the wire gathers into a bail through which the chain passes. The approximate pendant dimensions are 6 cm in length by 2.6 cm in width.
Suspended from the lower left of the wire structure is a long, slender, flattened metal bar drop with softly rounded, blunted ends and a gently tapered shape, polished to a reflective sheen that shows warm highlights and darker reflections depending on the angle. Hanging beside it, from a small open jump ring, is a cast star charm: a five-pointed star with a raised, sculpted outline and an inner recessed star-shaped well set with a tiny faceted clear stone that sparkles against the silver-toned metal. These two dangles hang freely at different lengths, adding vertical movement and an asymmetrical balance to the composition.
Two different chains accompany the piece. The primary chain is a fine titanium steel chain with tightly linked, oval, curb-style links that form a smooth, flexible, high-shine silver-colored strand. The second chain is a silver-toned copper chain with larger, more open interlocking oval links, giving a lighter, more delicate link pattern with a bright reflective surface. Both chains attach through the pendant's top bail, and the two chain types can be worn separately or layered together for varying visual density.
The overall design language draws on fantasy and celestial motifs, combining organic, flowing wire tendrils with star imagery and a raw, natural gemstone, resulting in an artisanal, one-of-a-kind aesthetic rather than a uniform manufactured look. Surface finishes alternate between high gloss on the wire strands and charm surfaces and the softer, natural, slightly matte-luster facets of the crystal. The construction shows tightly wound coil sections, clean closed loops, consistent wire tension in the coiled bands, and a dense, layered build where the metal cage completely grips the stone while still framing it open to the eye. Scale cues in the images show the pendant occupying a substantial portion of the chain drop, with the star charm measuring roughly a third of the pendant's width and the bar drop extending slightly longer than the star, establishing the delicate but clearly detailed proportions of the piece.
