A closer look
This is a handcrafted beaded bracelet assembled on a natural tan twisted fiber cord, designed in a simple, unisex, understated style with a rustic, ethnic-influenced aesthetic. The piece is a one-of-a-kind creation, meaning its exact bead arrangement and natural variations are unique to this individual item and will not be duplicated. The overall composition mixes translucent and opaque glass, pale bone, and antiqued metal accents in a muted earth-and-forest palette of greens, amber-browns, deep wine reds, cream-tan, and pewter gray.
The primary decorative elements are ancient-method crafted glass beads. Two prominent oval glass beads are a bright, semi-transparent grass green with a milky pale stripe running lengthwise through the center, and close inspection reveals tiny trapped air bubbles within the glass body. A third large oval bead is a deep forest green with a soft frosted, matte surface finish that diffuses light rather than reflecting it, giving it a satin-like sheen with a faint lighter green internal glow. Several faceted beads in dark amber-to-smoky-brown glass display a glossy finish, with flat cut planes catching light along their angled edges. A small round bead in deep reddish-brown, almost black-cherry in tone, adds a darker accent. Because these glass beads are made by traditional hand methods, minor bubbles, compression marks, cooling lines, and organic, irregular ("follow-the-form") shapes are inherent to the material.
Interspersed among the glass are light cream-to-honey-tan beads identified as bovine bone, shaped into chunky faceted barrel and blocky wedge forms with visible fine grain, faint pores, and natural tonal mottling ranging from pale ivory to warm caramel. The metal components are Tibetan silver, rendered in a deliberately antiqued, oxidized pewter-gray finish with darkened recesses and brighter raised highlights. These include a large spherical bead with deep spiral twisted-rope grooves, a smaller bead with a fine woven basket-weave lattice texture, tiny flower-shaped spacer beads with scalloped petal edges, and a sculpted skull-shaped bead featuring recessed dark eye sockets and small drilled detailing across its surface.
The closure is a functional adjustable drawstring system. The cord exits the bead strand and forms two sliding knots that allow the wrist circumference to be expanded or tightened to fit different wearers. Each of the two dangling cord tails terminates in a small barrel-shaped bead of warm yellow-ochre with dark brown banded stripes, finished below with a simple knot and lightly frayed fiber ends that reinforce the handmade character. Construction is strung threading with knots placed between sections to hold beads in position; the bead sequence is asymmetrical and mixed rather than strictly repeating, contributing to the artisanal, unbalanced-by-design look.
