A closer look
This piece is a hand-woven bracelet centered on a very large carved bear made of honey-colored root amber. The amber charm is the dominant element, roughly twice the height of the bead strands that surround it, and it has a deep translucent brown body with lighter caramel and honey-amber inclusions, cloudy internal swirls, and darker near-opaque veining running through it. The carving depicts a plump sitting bear seen from behind and from the side: rounded ears, a broad domed back, a gently bulging haunch, and short stubby paws tucked under the body. The surface is highly polished to a glossy, glass-like luster, so the curved planes catch broad white highlights and show warm golden-brown depth where light passes through the thinner edges. In several places the internal structure appears layered and fibrous, typical of root amber, giving the piece a wood-grain-like translucency that shifts from honey-gold to dark tobacco brown depending on the angle.
Around the bear, the bracelet body consists of three parallel strands of small round beads woven together in a loose braided or lattice pattern. One strand carries warm coral-orange red agate beads with a soft vitreous sheen; a second strand carries pale sky-blue turquoise beads with a matte to waxy surface and a faint mottled, slightly chalky character; and the third strand carries white natural freshwater pearls. The pearls are irregular, baroque and slightly elongated rather than perfectly round, with a silvery-white nacre and subtle rainbow overtone. They are placed at intervals along the weave rather than uniformly, so the strand reads as a mixed texture of matte turquoise, warm orange-red agate, and lustrous white pearl. Where the strands meet, they are bound together with small, tight knots of fine yellow-gold cord, creating visible binding points on either side of the amber bear.
The closure is an adjustable drawstring system built from the same yellow-gold fine cord. The cord threads through the braided bead body and is gathered by a sliding knot, allowing the loop to expand and contract; when drawn to its tightest setting the bracelet measures 15.5 cm in circumference. Four free cord ends hang from the closure, each finished with a single white pearl bead at the tip, which adds a decorative tail and also helps the cord ends stay neat. The knot work is even and compact, with the cord ends neatly finished rather than frayed, and the gold-yellow tone of the cord picks up the honey warmth of the amber while contrasting with the cool turquoise and the coral orange.
In terms of scale and wearability, the amber bear is described as very large and clearly reads as oversized relative to the fine bead strands, giving the bracelet a bold statement profile with an asymmetric focal point rather than an evenly balanced loop. On the wrist it sits with the bear projecting upward, its glossy polished surfaces standing proud above the layered
