This is an original handmade headpiece designed in the Hanyang-compromise aesthetic, a Chinese-Western fusion style, rendered in a striking red and black colorway. The hat takes the form of a wide-brimmed bonnet-style silhouette with a strongly asymmetric, sculptural build: the crown and brim are heavily loaded with layered ornament on one side while the opposite side remains a comparatively open, sweeping curve, so the piece reads as a dramatic, wearable art object rather than a symmetrical millinery staple.
