A closer look
Crystal planter arrangement, a hand-assembled crystal landscape display piece set within a black ceramic pedestal bowl. The vessel features a glossy black glazed finish with a flared, scalloped rim and a thick, tapered pedestal foot marked by subtle vertical striations. Its diameter is 17 cm, making it a large-format tabletop piece intended for home decoration or mineral specimen collecting.
The composition centers on a dense cluster of white crystal points identified as white pineapple crystal, interlocked with a natural white crystal cluster. The crystals display hexagonal prismatic terminations in varying sizes, ranging from translucent to milky white with faint warm beige-to-cream undertones near the base. Surfaces combine vitreous, glass-like luster on flat crystal faces with matte, granular crystalline texture along the matrix edges. Natural inclusions and minor surface imperfections are present throughout, consistent with untreated natural crystal.
Complementing the quartz is a desert rose ball, a spherical aggregate of intersecting blade-like gypsum or baryte blades in pale cream-beige tones with a soft matte finish and fine sandy residue in the crevices. The base layer consists of black obsidian gravel, small irregular chunks with conchoidal fracture surfaces and a dark, reflective vitreous luster, providing a stark color contrast against the pale crystals.
Decorative accents include a piece of gnarled brown driftwood with a rough, deeply furrowed bark texture standing vertically on the left, a tiny yellow six-petal flower, sprigs of small purple-pink blossoms with fine green foliage, a cream-colored woven rattan ball, and two bleached white fern fronds with delicate pinnate leaflets arching to the right, creating asymmetrical height and balance in the arrangement.
Measured specimen weights are documented for the individual crystal components: the larger crystal cluster weighs 305.5 g and a second, smaller cluster weighs 225.0 g. Held in the hand, the clusters reveal elongated, well-terminated quartz points growing from a rough, opaque milky base, with visible natural veils, internal fractures, and scattered iron-stained speckling at the matrix contact points.
The overall design blends natural mineral aesthetics with zen-like terrarium styling, layering reflective glassy crystal surfaces against matte rock, wood, and dried botanical textures. The ceramic bowl is supplied as a separate component, while the entire crystal landscape is hand-arranged and preserved in intact condition, making it suitable as a decorative mineral display or a collectible crystal specimen.
