This A5-sized leather divider board is designed for use in a loose-leaf ring binder journal or diary. The base panel is crafted from black calfskin leather, which displays a smooth, semi-glossy finish with a fine, natural grain texture and subtle surface undulations that catch the light. The leather has a deep, saturated black tone with faint charcoal highlights where the surface curves, indicating a supple yet firm temper suitable for a structural divider.
Attached to the front face of the black calfskin panel is a contrasting pocket made from natural vegetable-tanned leather in a warm, light tan or honey-beige shade. This pocket features a distinctive asymmetrical, wave-like curved edge along its right side, creating an organic, flowing silhouette against the dark background. The pocket is divided into two sections by a horizontal line of stitching, forming a smaller upper compartment and a larger lower compartment. The vegetable-tanned leather has a matte, smooth surface with a uniform color that will likely develop a rich patina over time.
