This is a handmade A5 leather ring binder organizer designed in a two-fold style, pairing two contrasting leather colors: a deep grape-juice burgundy red on the exterior shell and a burnt tea brown on the interior linings. The exterior leather has a soft, slightly matte, suede-like nap that catches light unevenly, producing subtle tonal variation across the cover, shifting from dark cherry wine at the edges to a slightly brighter mulled burgundy where the fibers lift. The brown interior surfaces share the same velvety, low-sheen texture, reading as a warm cocoa brown with faint cloudy mottling that gives each panel a natural, organic depth rather than a flat uniform tone. Both colorways remain rich and saturated, with the red offering a cool-leaning wine undertone against the warmer, earthier brown, creating a refined two-tone contrast suited to a classic stationery aesthetic.
The structure is built from full-grain Pueblo leather, a vegetable-tanned leather known for its firm, dense body and distinctive slightly rugged surface, which is confirmed here by the crisp panel edges, the firm stand of the covers, and the smooth, glassy burnished finish on the cut edges. The edge finishing is visibly sanded and sealed, producing a rounded, polished rim with a subtle darkened tone where the leather has been compressed and burnished, a detail that reinforces the structural stiffness of the cover while giving the silhouette a clean, finished contour. Corners are squared and gently eased, and the overall proportions are symmetrical and balanced, with the two folded halves mirroring each other around the central spine in a precise bi-fold layout.
Construction is executed by hand with saddle stitching, a traditional two-needle technique in which each stitch is independently locked, producing rows of slightly slanted, evenly spaced stitches that sit flush to the leather surface with consistent tension and no visible machine regularity. The stitch lines run parallel to every pocket edge and perimeter seam with uniform margins from the edge, and the thread color blends subtly into the leather, keeping the visual emphasis on the clean geometry of the panels rather than the stitching itself. The panels were prepared with double-sided pricking before sewing, meaning the stitch holes were punched through both layers of leather in alignment, which is what allows the stitch spacing to stay perfectly even around curves, corners, and layered pocket mouths. Interior edges, pocket rims, and the divider panel lips all carry the same hand-worked, sand-sealed finish.
