A closer look
This product is a handcrafted bi-fold loose-leaf planner or journal binder constructed entirely from full-grain pebbled leather, using two contrasting colorways. The exterior and main panels are finished in a deep, muted Epoca purple, while the interior lining, pocket panels and spine-facing surfaces use a lighter Arizona lavender purple. Both leather types display a fine, consistent natural pebble grain with a soft matte-to-satin sheen; the grain relief catches light in a fine stippled pattern rather than reflecting as a flat gloss, and the color shifts subtly from a cooler plum tone in shadowed areas to a warmer violet where the surface angles toward the light. No embossing, branding, tooling or printed ornamentation appears on the leather faces, giving the cover a clean, unadorned artisanal look.
The construction is specified as hand saddle stitching with hand-pricked stitching holes on both sides, and the visible threadwork confirms this: a light, pale lilac or off-white thread runs in a continuous, evenly spaced line of slanted, slightly angled saddle stitches inset roughly two to three millimeters from every perimeter edge. Stitch density is uniform along all four sides of the cover and along the internal pocket seams, with no skipped stitches, fraying or thread wavering visible, and each stitch sits slightly sunk into the leather surface. The cut edges of the leather have been sanded and burnished to a smooth, rounded, sealed finish in a dark tone matching the leather, producing clean, closed edges rather than raw or fibrous cuts, and the corners are cut to a consistent soft radius rather than sharp points.
The binder is fitted with a silver-tone Krause six-ring mechanism, with the rings specified at 25 mm diameter. The polished chrome-like steel hardware spans the full interior height of the cover, mounted on a metal spine plate that carries a small vertical stamped maker marking reading Krause along with a numeral code. The rings open and close in a classic D-profile fashion, and their reflective finish contrasts strongly against the matte leather. The hardware is seated over a leather spine panel that is stitched to the interior liner, and small leather reinforcing tabs sit above and below the ring plate to protect the paper edges from contact with the metal.
The interior is laid out with a functional pocket system. On the left inside panel there are stacked horizontal card slots, above which sit a larger slip pocket and a framed transparent photo window with rounded corners; this window holds a printed card depicting a fluffy white Persian-style cat, demonstrating the panel's intended use for a photograph, ID or decorative insert. On the right inside panel there is a large slip pocket for documents or inserts, plus a smaller rounded pocket layered above it. The right edge also carries a leather pen loop in the darker Epoca purple, with a silver pen tip visible when a pen is seated, sized to hold a standard writing instrument against the cover edge. When closed, this loop sits proud of the cover silhouette.
