This compact leather ring binder, affectionately nicknamed a "little steamed bun," is a handmade piece crafted from a single layer of full-grain leather measuring 7 to 8 millimeters in thickness. The exterior presents a warm, light brown tone that shifts subtly in shade depending on the ambient lighting, displaying a natural, semi-glossy sheen that highlights the organic grain and gentle surface undulations of the hide. The edges of the leather are finished with a smooth, water-burnished technique, resulting in a clean, sealed perimeter that emphasizes the substantial profile of the material.
The front cover is secured by a brown elastic band with a diameter of 20 millimeters, which wraps horizontally around the body of the binder. Centered on this band is a decorative, circular leather ornament designed to resemble a stylized pastry or bun. This embellishment features a deeply textured, pebbled surface in a slightly darker, reddish-brown hue, framed by a lighter, gathered leather border that mimics a crimped crust. A small, neatly tied brown ribbon bow sits at the very center of the disc, adding a delicate, tactile detail to the rustic aesthetic.
When opened, the binder reveals a contrasting interior with a raw, suede-like texture in a lighter tan shade, characteristic of the flesh side of the leather.
