A closer look
This is a handcrafted loose-leaf leather planner in the M5 size designation, a compact format also cross-referenced in the range alongside A5, A6, A7/M6, A8/M5, A9 and A6PW variations. The example shown is a small, book-shaped binder with softly rounded corners on all four cover edges, a gently curved spine, and an overall portrait-oriented rectangular proportion that tapers only slightly at the spine so the covers splay open naturally. The exterior and interior skins are both crafted from Mbox leather in a burnished tea-brown (caramel-brown) shade, displaying a fine, dense, evenly distributed pebbled grain that catches soft highlights across the rounded corners while the recesses of the grain hold a slightly deeper, darker brown, giving the surface a subtle natural gradient rather than a flat uniform tone.
The closure is an elastic band system: a flat woven nylon-style strap in a dark brown that matches the leather, running horizontally around the full circumference of the binder, threaded through a matching fabric loop on the rear edge and finished at the front with a round leather disc cut from the same pebbled Mbox leather. The disc is neatly saddle-stitched around its circumference with visible even stitching, and the strap passes through a stitched leather channel at the front cover so the tension remains uniform when the cover is packed with inserts. A separate pen loop in the same brown leather, stitched with the same thread, is positioned at the spine edge to hold a slim writing instrument alongside the cover.
The binding hardware consists of Krause M5-16 silver-tone metal six-ring rings, mounted on a polished, mirror-finished metal base plate in the centre of the interior. The rings are evenly spaced along a vertical axis, each ring presenting a clean, bright silver reflective finish that contrasts against the dark leather, and they are openable and closable for insert replacement. All stitching on the piece is executed with 0.45 waxed linen thread in a saddle-stitched double-wave pattern, with the holes pricked at a 3.38 punching pitch; the stitching runs in a continuous, even line inset from every edge of the covers, the spine panels, the interior pockets and the closure disc, with the thread sitting slightly recessed into the leather for a low-profile, refined edge finish.
Inside, the layout is arranged in three sections. The left inner cover carries a horizontal card slot at the top, with a white-edged card partially visible above it, and below that a large clear plastic window pocket framed in stitched brown leather, shown displaying a pet photograph with a cursive signature-style mark on it.
