This is a handmade A7-size bi-fold ring-binder notebook cover, presented as a two-panel folding planner or journal case. The A7 designation defines its compact pocket format, with the folded cover forming a slim, near-rectangular vertical block with gently rounded corners and a soft, slightly bulging profile when closed, revealing a layered edge of leather and page stock along the bottom and side. The exterior shell is crafted from Barenia ebony leather, presenting a deep near-black brown with warm umber undertones. Its surface is smooth and fine-grained, with a low natural sheen rather than a high-gloss finish, showing subtle pull-up character where the leather bends, so light and handling gradually lighten and patina the tone in high-wear areas.
The exterior panel is finished with hand saddle stitching executed in a tonal dark-brown waxed thread, the stitches seated in a slightly recessed channel that runs evenly around the entire perimeter. The stitch density is uniform and tight, with consistent spacing and angled stitch slants characteristic of a two-needle saddle stitch, and the thread sits just below the leather surface so the seam reads as a clean, continuous line rather than a decorative contrast. Edge finishing has been carried out through double-sided punching followed by sanding and sealing of the edges, producing a burnished, dark, smooth, and sealed border where the leather layers are compressed into a rounded, polished profile with no raw or fibrous material exposed. All four corners are cut and finished with matched radius, maintaining symmetry between the front and back panels.
The interior is lined and accented with Mbox leather in a burnt-tea brown, a warm, mid-dark roasted brown that contrasts gently against the darker ebony exterior. This inner leather displays a pronounced, natural pebbled grain texture with a soft matte-to-satin hand, giving the interior a visibly more textured character than the smooth outer shell. Along the hinge, the two interior panels meet through a leather spine reinforcement, and a narrow stitched leather strip flanks the ring mechanism on both sides to cover the mounting hardware and provide a tidy transition. On the left inner panel there is a card-sized storage slot holding a display card with a photographic portrait of an orange long-haired cat; the pocket edge is cleanly cut and stitched, and the clear window shows a rounded-corner frame. On the right inner panel there is a vertical slip pocket with a swept, curved top opening, sized to hold notes or additional cards.
