The closure system is a leather tongue-and-loop buckle-style strap: a rounded, pointed spear-tip strap that threads through a stitched leather keeper loop, forming a clean interlocking shape on the front cover. The strap and keeper are built from the same chocolate-brown leather and are edged with the same high-contrast off-white thread that outlines the entire cover perimeter. The stitching follows the classic hand saddle-stitch method, worked through pricking holes punched from both sides of the leather, producing perfectly aligned slanted stitch lines with even tension, consistent stitch length, and no visible machine regularity. All cut edges are sealed with edge paint, creating a smooth, dark, uniform border that closes the leather layers cleanly and resists fraying.
The interior is lined in Sully goat leather in a creamy milkshake-white tone, creating a sharp two-tone contrast against the dark exterior. On the inside front cover there is a large angled leather pocket in matching chocolate brown, and on the inside back cover a second brown leather pocket with a gently curved top opening, both stitched in the same off-white thread. The center houses a Krause silver-toned binder mechanism, a high-quality ring assembly with a bright polished chrome finish and sixteen evenly spaced rings, sized to hold A7 refills and loose sheets; the ring metal carries a subtle engraved maker's marking visible on the mechanism plate. Two narrow stitched leather strips flank the ring spine as reinforcing liners, and a leather pen loop sits on the back cover to secure a writing instrument.
Functional capacity is organized around the A7 ring standard: the binder accommodates loose A7 pages, dividers, and card inserts, with the black flexible flysheet or divider shown seated on the rings acting as a protective separator between the paper and the leather. In the photographed configuration the cover holds a cream-colored paper block, a dark grey-black divider, and a slim ivory-barrel pen with silver trim held in the leather loop, demonstrating that the closed volume remains compact
