The woven fabric print blends red, green, blue, yellow, and white into a cheerful, storybook look. A mustard-yellow first-layer cowhide leather spine and closure strap add a warm, tactile contrast to the busy cover art.

The cover is stitched to the text block with a thick, waxed yellow thread in an intricate cross-stitch pattern, a detail that also lets the journal open a full 360 degrees.
