This handcrafted circular pendant necklace pairs a mosaic inlay of genuine jewel beetle elytra, the iridescent wing cases of a buprestid beetle, with a stainless steel bezel. The inlay follows the tradition of beetle-wing work, cut into strips and fragments arranged as nested concentric squares that read almost like a shallow tunnel. Color travels across the surface in emerald and lime greens, copper reds, burnt orange, and deep amber, shifting as the pendant moves.
