This handmade glazed glass (liuli) necklace is strung from imported orange and green liuli beads paired with imported seed beads, assembled with an antique brass-toned hook clasp and loop closure visible at the end of the strand. Each of these glass beads is individually lampworked by hand and hand-fired, so every bead differs slightly in shape, ribbing, shading, and internal character, giving the strand an organic, one-of-a-kind appearance rather than a machine-uniform look.
Between the large melon beads run small spacer beads in alternating colors: opaque milky-white seed beads and glossy jet-black seed beads, each roughly disc or round in form. This alternating white-and-black rhythm creates a crisp contrast that makes the warm orange and green glass beads stand out and gives the whole piece a lively, playful color scheme. The bead stringing is even and closely spaced so the strand holds a continuous, flexible beaded line.
