This is a handmade single-layer cotton surgical-style cap designed for comfortable, breathable everyday or professional headwear. It is made from a skin-friendly, breathable 100% pure cotton woven fabric, giving the surface a soft, matte, natural hand-feel with a fine, visible plain-weave texture and no glossy or coated finish. The fabric is lightweight and pliable, conforming smoothly to the rounded crown of the head while keeping a soft, non-rigid drape.
The cap is constructed as a single-layer shell with an elasticized crown, creating gentle, evenly distributed vertical gathers and soft pleating from the top down to the lower edge. The overall silhouette is a rounded, dome-like form with a slight bell flare toward the brim, approximately 13–14 cm in cap depth from crown to hem, proportioned to sit close to the head without tightness. The head opening is sized to fit head circumferences of 56–60 cm, with the integrated elastic giving a snug yet comfortable fit that stays in place without pressing tightly on the head.
The lower hem is finished with a delicate openwork crochet-style lace trim in a warm cream or oatmeal tone, approximately a centimeter or so in width, worked with a repeating scalloped eyelet pattern that creates a soft, decorative, slightly textured edge. This lace edging contrasts gently with the smooth cotton body and adds a handcrafted, artisanal finish. At the back, a lavender-grey cotton tie made from a narrow folded fabric strap secures the cap; the strap is topstitched with a fine, even stitch line and finished with clean, squared ends, allowing the fit to be adjusted at the rear nape.
The exterior is covered in a dense, playful food-themed novelty print set on a pale buttery-yellow or cream background. Motifs include illustrated cocoa and iced drinks in clear cups with domed lids and straws, bearing the word ROOTS on the cup body; small golden-brown bread loaves and toast slices; a checkered plate holding golden egg dishes or pastries; small layered desserts topped with berries and green garnish in white bowls; and assorted baked goods on small white serving boards. Scattered accents include small orange citrus fruits with green leaves, magenta-purple and soft tan pear-shaped fruits, tiny lilac and pink flower sprigs, small orange and green ring-shaped biscuits, brown chocolate square shards, and fine outline illustrations of forks and spoons. Handwritten-style script lettering appears throughout the print, including the words Cocoa in black, Black Bael in black and red, Sea Salt Butterscotch Blondies in dark ink, BANA COTTA in golden yellow, Little Sunshine on the cup design, and the ROOTS mark on the drink cups. The color palette combines warm yellows, cocoa browns, burnt orange, cream, muted purple, and soft green for a cheerful, café-inspired aesthetic.
