A closer look
This pendant centers on a large, teardrop-shaped labradorite cabochon with a smooth, high-polish, glossy surface that produces a bright white elongated reflection along its face. The stone exhibits strong labradorescence, flashing across a cool spectrum of deep teal, aqua blue, and emerald green over a dark gray-green body color, with subtle internal fractures, veining, and mineral inclusions visible beneath the polished surface. Its outline is an asymmetrical pear or droplet form, widest toward the lower rounded base and tapering to a soft point at the top where the wirework rises. In different lighting conditions the play of color shifts, with the blue-green sheen concentrated across the center and lower half of the stone.
The stone is secured by an intricate hand-wrapped metal frame rather than a traditional closed bezel. The metal has the warm reddish-brown tone characteristic of copper wire, with a slightly antiqued, muted patina rather than a mirror-bright finish, and the wire surfaces appear smooth and round in gauge. A bundle of parallel straight wires runs vertically along the left edge of the stone, bound at intervals by fine tightly coiled wire wraps that create ribbed, textured bands across the frame. Additional fine wire coils are wrapped around the outer rim at the lower point and upper edge of the cabochon, functioning both as structural clamps and as decorative linear texture.
The decorative wirework rises above the stone into an elaborate crown. A prominent teardrop-shaped loop stands at the very top, its interior filled with fine, densely spaced coiling that resembles a small woven or feathered panel. Clustered around this upper loop is a series of small, polished spherical wire beads of graduated sizes, arranged in a curving arc that sweeps from the top down toward the right side of the bail, giving the crown a beaded, almost filigree silhouette. Below the bail, the wire forms several open scroll and spiral motifs that curl across the upper left shoulder of the stone and continue down the left flank, where two small circular loops sit within the coiled binding, adding layered, three-dimensional ornament. The bail itself is an open loop formed by the wirework, designed to pass a chain or cord through.
The overall design language is artisanal, organic, and bohemian, drawing on fantasy, elven, and art-nouveau influences with its flowing S-curves, spirals, and beaded accents. Construction appears fully handmade, with hand-bent wire, hand-wrapped coils, and irregular but intentional spacing that gives the piece an individual character. The metal shows slight tonal variation between the brighter highlights on the rounded wire tops and the darker recesses of the coils, consistent with hand-worked copper wire that may be swapped for other wire materials if desired.
The pendant is shown suspended on a simple matte black cord passing through the wire bail, and also resting against mineral and crystal props, which provides scale: the cabochon spans roughly the length of two finger segments, placing the full pendant in the range of a medium-to-large statement pendant.
