This is a handcrafted red crystal pendant necklace built around a single raw red crystal stone as the central focal element. The stone is an uncut, natural rough crystal with an irregular, elongated pointed shape that tapers toward the lower tip, resembling a natural spike or shard. Its surface displays the characteristic fractured facets of a raw crystal, with flat cleavage planes, jagged angular ridges, and natural striations running lengthwise. The color is a warm reddish-coral hue, ranging from deep saturated red-orange in the thicker sections to lighter pinkish-salmon and translucent pale blush where the crystal is thinner and light passes through it. White and pale veined mineral inclusions are visible internally and along the surface, adding natural variation and confirming the stone's raw, unpolished geological character.
The crystal is held in place by an elaborate hand-wrapped wire cage constructed from brass wire. The metalwork forms an open, organic framework rather than a closed bezel, allowing much of the stone's surface to remain exposed while securing it firmly. Two thicker brass wires run vertically along the lower body of the crystal, hugging its sides and converging toward the tip, while finer coiled wire wraps them in tight, dense spiral windings for structural strength and decorative texture. The finish on the brass is a deliberately antiqued and polished treatment: darkened recesses in the oxidized tones contrast with burnished golden highlights on the raised coil ridges, creating a warm, aged-bronze appearance with a soft lustrous sheen rather than a mirror-like gloss. This two-tone patina effect emphasizes the hand-made coiling detail and gives the piece an earthy, organic aesthetic.
At the top of the pendant, the wirework gathers into a dense cluster of tightly wound coils and multiple decorative spiral scrolls. Several distinct circular coil motifs are visible, some formed from thicker wire wrapped with finer wire, producing a rich, textured rosette-like cluster where the pendant meets the cord. Additional spiral accents are positioned asymmetrically along the upper shoulders of the stone, one prominent spiral resting on the left side of the crystal's upper portion, contributing to an intentionally free-form, artisan silhouette. The overall construction reads as wire-wrapped jewelry in a rustic, bohemian artisan style, with the antique brass and raw crystal combination evoking a natural, handcrafted, one-of-a-kind character rather than a mass-produced or precisely symmetrical form.
