Item details

Cleaning instructions: Hand wash only
Color pattern: White
Pour spout design: Standard
Shape: Square
Tableware material: Ceramic and Stoneware

This square-shaped ceramic pitcher, known as a fairness cup or gongdao bei, is crafted from coarse stoneware clay for tea service. Its off-white and light gray surface is heavily speckled with irregular brown and dark spots, creating a rustic, organic look that highlights the handmade quality of the piece.

The pitcher features a distinct geometric form with a square base and body, standing about 9.5 cm tall and measuring approximately 6.5 cm across. A single integrated spout extends from one corner for a controlled pour, while the rim shows a brown edge where the glaze meets the clay. The interior is glazed with the same speckled pattern as the exterior, and the unglazed base reveals the natural light brown clay body with fine dark speckles.

Type: Ceramic fairness cup
Dimensions: 6.5 cm width and depth, 9.5 cm height
Capacity: 200 ml
Materials: Coarse pottery or stoneware clay
Finish: Matte to semi-matte, textured speckled glaze

This pitcher is sized to fit comfortably in one hand, making it easy to pour tea evenly into multiple cups. Its minimalist square form pairs well with both traditional tea sets and modern tableware.

Use it during formal tea ceremonies to distribute brewed tea, or as a small serving pitcher for everyday gatherings. It also works nicely as a decorative accent on a shelf or side table.

Hand wash with mild soap and water, then dry promptly. Avoid abrasive scrubbers to protect the textured glaze. Store in a dry place, ensuring the unglazed base is fully dry before setting down.
