Item details

Material: Bamboo

This oval-shaped bamboo enclosure is designed for keeping singing insects, with a natural light tan finish and visible organic grain. The smooth, polished surface gives the bamboo a subtle sheen, with tones ranging from pale cream to warm honey.

The elongated elliptical shape and dense bamboo cross-section texture on the rims make it visually distinctive. Solid bamboo rings anchor the top and bottom, while vertical slats create a ventilated barrier.

Key features:
- Oval footprint with solid bamboo rings at both ends
- Uniform 2 mm vertical slats with 2 mm spacing
- Sliding bamboo door with curved profile, no metal hardware

Size & Materials:
Type: Singing insect enclosure
Dimensions: 80 mm height, 50 by 70 mm diameter
Materials: Three-year-old bamboo
Finish / color: Natural light tan, polished sheen
Closure: Sliding bamboo door

This compact enclosure fits comfortably in one hand and suits tabletop display. The 2 mm gap between bars is ideal for larger species like katydids, but not for smaller insects such as bamboo crickets.

Occasions:
- Daily housing for singing insects
- Observing insect behavior up close
- Displaying as a natural craft piece
- Gifting to insect enthusiasts

Care:
- Wipe with a dry, soft cloth to remove dust
- Avoid prolonged exposure to moisture or direct sunlight
- Store in a dry, well-ventilated area when not in use

Handmade note: This enclosure is crafted from cut bamboo pieces fitted together without visible metal hardware, so slight variations in grain and tone may occur.
