A closer look
This is an A7-size bifold leather planner cover designed as a hand journal holder, built around a silver-tone Krause 20-ring binder mechanism with a 20 mm ring diameter. The outer shell is rendered in a mirror-finish, dye-stabilized horsehide cordovan in a pale, cool light blue that reads almost like a baby blue, with a smooth, glossy, glass-like surface that reflects light in long soft bands and shows subtle shade shifts between a silvery periwinkle and a milky ice blue depending on the angle. The interior lining is a contrasting Arizona milkshake white leather with a fine, natural pebble grain and a matte, softly cushioned surface, giving a two-tone, pastel palette of baby blue, milkshake white, and a neutral grey-blue accent.
The cover carries a decorative woven webbing band running vertically across the front, colored in a medium baby blue ground with a visible tight weave texture and embroidered daisy motifs consisting of white petal radii around pale butter-yellow centers, evenly spaced along the length of the band. A rectangular leather keeper loop in the same mirror-light-blue cordovan secures the band, stitched with visible saddle-style slanted stitches around its perimeter. A contrasting grey-blue suede-textured pen loop is attached along the right edge, open at the top and bottom, holding a slim cream-white pen with a pale mint-green cap detail; the loop shows a soft, napped matte surface with a curved cut-away opening for easy pen access.
Construction is executed with hand saddle stitching throughout, using light blue thread that matches the shell, with clean, dense, evenly pitched slanted stitches running continuously along the outer edges of the covers, the keeper, the pen loop, and the interior pockets. Both faces of the leather panels are pricked for stitching before assembly, and all exposed edges are sanded and burnished to a smooth, sealed finish, visible as a fine polished rim around the cover perimeter. The spine is a rounded, gently curved fold that opens flat, and the outer corners are slightly softened rather than sharply squared, producing a compact, palm-sized A7 form.
The interior layout is symmetrical around the central ring mechanism. On the left inner panel, a milkshake-white upper slip pocket sits above a baby-blue leather photo window pocket with a large rounded-corner die-cut aperture, currently displaying a printed card image of a fluffy pale kitten with cursive text reading "Tiny princess" in the lower left corner of the card. On the right inner panel, a full-height milkshake-white slip pocket is overlaid by a large baby-blue leather card pocket with a gently curved top edge, all edged in the same blue thread saddle stitching. Two narrow white leather strips flank the metal mechanism, serving as spine supports, and the white A7 refill insert of blank paper pages is threaded onto the 20 polished chrome rings, which open and close on a standard lever system.
In terms of scale and proportion, the closed cover presents a compact portrait-oriented A7 rectangle with a slightly wider footprint when opened flat, a modest thickness even with a fresh paper insert installed, and a lightweight, portable profile suited to carrying in a hand or small bag.
