This is an M5-size bifold leather planner notebook presented in a dark ebony finish, built as a compact two-fold folio format. The exterior cover is crafted from Haas Barenia leather in an ebony shade, showing a deep, saturated dark brown to near-black tone with subtle warm brown undertones where light grazes the surface. The Barenia hide displays a very fine, tight natural grain with a soft, semi-matte sheen rather than a high gloss, giving it a smooth, slightly waxy hand feel typical of that leather type. A contrasting white hand-stitched seam outlines the perimeter of the cover, using even, consistent saddle-stitch lengths that sit slightly recessed into the leather, with slanted thread angles characteristic of hand stitching made on a double-punched, double-pricked edge. The cut edges are finished with a dark edge oil paint, producing a smooth, sealed, slightly rounded lip along the cover rims.
A vertical strip of dark brown woven elastic runs across the front cover to function as the closure band, its tight ribbon weave visible under close inspection, and it wraps around the cover to keep the bifold shut. Along the outer edge of the cover, a cream-white leather pen loop is stitched in place, holding a white-bodied pen with a pale mint-blue cap end; the pen loop is made from the same Alran Sully French goat leather used for the interior, and the pen simply slots into it as a functional accessory demonstration. The overall silhouette is rectangular with softly rounded corners, proportional to the M5 format, and the cover lies flat when opened thanks to the flexible leather construction.
The interior lining is executed in Alran Sully French goat leather in a milkshake white colorway, a soft off-white to pale cream tone that contrasts sharply with the ebony exterior. The goat leather shows a pronounced, natural pebbled grain across the whole lining, giving it a distinctly textured, supple surface. The interior features a left-side card and document area that includes an ID-style window pocket, currently displaying a photograph of a long-haired white and cream cat with a signature overlay; the window is bordered by the pebbled white leather with neat white perimeter stitching. A deep curved pocket section forms on the right interior side, cut with a sweeping arc that creates a layered card-pocket effect over the darker exterior leather visible beneath it.
At the center spine sits a Krause silver-finished 16-ring binder mechanism, polished chrome-bright with crisp, well-formed ring barrels that open and close for refilling. The ring set is 16 rings in diameter, sized for the M5 pocket system, and the mechanism is mounted over a stitched leather spine reinforcement strip in the milkshake white goat leather, with the stitching running parallel on both sides of the ring base.
